This resource is my newest digital design for educators and students alike: The PowerPoint Digital Sketchbook. Perfect for learners from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, as well as art teachers seeking to curate digital portfolios of student or personal work, this dynamic tool can help aid the way your art is showcased.
Unveil your creations with ease by simply uploading images of traditional paper-based artwork and transform them into the visual narrative of a classic sketchbook. Crafted as a PowerPoint download, each slide is flattened to preserve the essence of its design, ensuring an authentic experience for every user and no accidental page formatting.
Embrace tradition with a touch of modernity as the sketchbook boasts a timeless, textured black front and back cover reminiscent of traditional sketchbooks. Inside, users can explore three distinct paper styles: Craft, textured white, and black sugar paper, crafted to replicate the tactile feel of their physical counterparts. Complete with a charming blue ring binder, this sketchbook adds a touch of realism, inviting users to immerse themselves in a new creative process.
Implementation Ideas:
Use to curate loose copies of student art work
Use for GCSE or ‘A Level’ artwork as a digital footprint of paper based activities
Use in lessons as an aid to teaching - realistic sketchbook slides to be used with images to recreate artist research pages or to showcase exemplars.
Duplicate the pages over and over again with a mix of paper styles
Easily add student names to the front cover
Use as a digital homework upload space
Use all of PowerPoint’s best features to create a digital sketchbook with a realistic feel.

This download is a whole class feedback form, for giving feedback to KS3 students. It is aimed at art teachers but could easily be adapted for other lessons as the feedback areas are quite generic.
As an art teacher you often find that students across a class or year group have the same misconceptions or struggle with the same techniques. Rather than giving feedback individually, turn this into a feedback lesson; discuss what students have done well, areas of improvement, common misconceptions and next steps. I also use to like highlighting a few students who had worked well on the form as a further discussion point as to what they did well! Add your own slides of completed work to accompany this.
There is also a box for ‘key words’ which can be used as extra revision within the lesson.
The Power Point is editable, and once the feedback has been added it could be printed as an A4 or A5 handout to be kept in student sketchbooks. Students can then highlight areas of development that they recognise as being important to them.
Your download consists of:
A one slide editable Power Point
A printable PDF

This Christmas bauble resource is aimed at KS3 (11-14) art students but it could be used with upper KS2 too! It’s a great activity for group collaboration and to decorate your school Christmas tree as a gift from the art department. As this is a 3D based task to create a triskele bauble, it might also be useful in a DT lesson or as an after school activity.
This is a printable download that consists of:
1 Blank bauble construction sheet so that students can design their own triskele bauble in any theme.
3 x Black and White Patterned Designs to colour in your own bauble
3 x Coloured Patterned Bauble to just print and construct
1 Complete set of Instructions
Materials required:
Thick paper or card
Glue / sellotape
Scissors
String / Hook
This is based on a lesson I designed in 2020 where I asked students to design and create a Picasso Christmas bauble. The 2D baubles were decorated and then stuck to green paper and used to construct a tree wall. I have updated this for 2023 to a 3D version.

I’ve also added in the additional Creatures and Characters Starter & Plenary Activities Slides at no extra cost! Saving you more than 50%
The lesson plans in total cater for three half terms of work. They also work as stand alone lessons from 1-6 weeks.
This resource is part of a wider set of art lesson plans under the umbrella of ‘Creatures and Characters.’ This set of lessons focuses on the artist Buff Monster and graffiti themes. It is aimed at KS3 students.
The block of lessons explores typography and graffiti with the learning objective of creating an effective research page. There are enough slides for a 4-6 week project but it could be adapted for more or less.
There are 44 Power point slides in total with starter and plenary activities as well as a homework. The Power point slides are adaptable for you to add your own learning objectives, different images etc.
Each lesson starts with a introduction slide to add what you did in the previous lesson and what you will do in today’s lesson.
There is a research task for students to complete using a resource from Twinkl with some interview the artist type questions. I haven’t added this as this isn’t my resource, but it was used to help students research more effectively so that they could complete an effective Buff Monster research page.
