Teaching a Christmas Carol to year 8 SEN students, my students learn visually. Therefore I created worksheets that enabled students to create their own characterisation of each character through the use of quotations. Each drawing must be annotated with quotations from the text which is in the supporting box at the bottom of each sheet. I have given an example sheet to show learners. I created higher and lower level sheets to further support my lower level learners.

A lesson created for Anti-slavery day in October, this lesson is on human trafficking and modern day slavery. It will last an hour and a half lesson, depending on the ability of your learners. Graded as an OUTSTANDING lesson by OFSTED in May 2016, I created this lesson for my year 8 SEMH students who learn through kinaesthetic and auditory ways of learning. In this lesson students watch 2 films adaptions (5 min clips) of Romeo and Juliet. They then are grouped into 4 groups and move in a carousel activity around the room answering leveled questions on tables. Followed by class discussion. This enables students to understand the prologue, before reading it, which they can then do for homework. Includes a detailed lesson plan that I gave the inspector on the day, with differentiation, cross curricular links, SMSC and teachers notes.
