A complete assembly celebrating Shakespeare for the anniversary of his death (April 23rd). The assembly consists of a 20 slide PPT with a full script for class delivery, if needed. The assembly talks abit about Shakespeare's life and also looks at why he is still popular today and the reasons why children have to study him at school. I also look at how he has influenced modern day film and TV makers. Suitable for KS2, KS3 and KS4.
A detailed essay plan for KS3 looking at suspense in The Red Room. Can be used as an assessment piece.
Could be used at the end of the topic as it assumes that some work has been done on character, setting and language.
Students should use the bullet points to help them write PEE paragraphs.
Resource consists of one essay plan.
A comprehensive, 30 slide, active and passive PPT. It starts off looking at what a sentence is and touches on subjects and verbs. I then go on to explain how to identify an active sentence and then a passive sentence. I also look at how to convert from active to passive and vice-versa. There are activities for pupils to complete and several SATs style questions as well as teacher notes.
The PPT has been designed for Year 6 SATs but could be used with older pupils and could be used to introduce active and passive or as a revision tool.
Also see my other SATs PPTS: Present and Past Progressive verbs; Present Perfect; Simple Past and Simple Present. Bundles also available.
Thanks for looking.
NB: The preview slides look distorted on my preview. The words all fit neatly into the boxes in my PPT and don't spill out as in the preview. Your download will match my copy. Any problems then please let me know.
This resource contains 4 different, independent tasks which culminate in pupils writing a persuasive speech to be delivered to their peers. Each activity has been designed to complete at home, thus giving you 4 weeks worth of homework and one more if you add a week for rehearsal or making a PPT to go with their speech.
The first homework looks at Martin Luther King's 'I have a dream' speech and asks pupils to identify persuasive features. Self-assessment is also included.
A comprehensive, 15-20 minute assembly which celebrates Shakespeare’s birth/death anniversary (23rd April) by giving a brief biography of his life and by looking at Shakespeare’s impact and legacy. Suitable for KS2/3/4.
Could also be used to introduce Shakespeare in the classroom.
The assembly can be delivered by one person or as a class/group when using the script.
Assessment preparation and feedback lesson for ‘The Soldier’ - HOW DOES BROOKES PRESENT WAR?
This resource contains material for at least three lessons. It was designed for the fourth out of five sets (predicted grades mainly 3s) and was written for an assessment. The first lesson sees pupils completing a revision sheet using previous teaching/knowledge and shows how to attempt a poetry assessment. The second lesson is the assessment itself after an 10 minute starter which focuses on ways in which war is presented. The third lesson is for after the marking and is a ppt designed to help pupils improve and re-draft.
