This resource consists of a PowerPoint presentation with four supporting word documents for an hour-long training session on methods for teaching reading. Includes: - looking at a range of methods of teaching reading from the past and present - an activity in which staff attempt to decode five mystery texts - discussion of diagrams which show the skills used for reading - a task to match activities to reading skills and - an opportunity for teachers to reflect on the provision for reading in their own classrooms.
