Adaptable game to practise speaking and listening. Includes blank template to add your own text, plus examples in French and Spanish.
Instructions: each student gets a piece with two phrases. The student who gets the “Start” piece reads the phrase on the right of their piece. The rest of the class must listen attentively, because someone will have that same phrase on the left of their piece. When that student hears the phrase, they read the one on the right of their piece, and so on. This will create a chain where everyone will have their turn to identify a phrase and read their own.
This is an excellent game to practise listening (identifying the phrase on the left when someone else says it) and speaking/pronunciation (reading the phrase on the right). Students will need to keep up to avoid breaking the chain.
There are French and Spanish templates, plus a blank one. You can also adapt this for other languages and to play either in group or in pairs.
Includes a guide on how speaking is evaluated and a step-by-step example of how to craft an answer for a stimulus card:
How to structure your answers to the two bullet points
Adding analysis and cultural knowledge

Using complex language, subjunctive, good tenses and vocab
