This 12-page workbook is specifically designed to support children in their learning of the RWI (Read Write Inc) Set 2 and Set 3 phonics program. The workbook includes reading comprehension exercises that focus on different phonemes, including “ee/ea,” “oi/oy” “ay, ai & a-e,” “igh/i-e,” “ow, oa & o-e,” “oo, ew & u-e,” “or/aw,” “air/are,” “ur, er & ir” and “ow/ou”. First, children read through the passages and highlight the focus phonic for each reading. To further reinforce their learning, previous sounds or tricky words can be highlighted in different colours for revision. The RWI phonics program has been proven to be highly effective in helping children develop their reading and writing skills. This workbook is an excellent tool to help children consolidate their learning, practice their comprehension skills, and reinforce their understanding of the RWI Set 2 and Set 3 phonemes. It is recommended to use this workbook with teacher support to ensure children get the most out of the exercises. Instructions: Children should read the short story 3 times. Each time they colour one star at the bottom. Children should look at the sounds in the top right corner and circle words with that sound in the story. Children read (with support from an adult) the questions and highlight the answers in the story. Then they write the correct answer on the lines provided.
