This is a great way to streamline notes and facilitate students obtaining understanding of the difference and how to go about collecting each component. This is simply a graphic organizer and therefore allows teachers to provide their own instruction and notes.

Parts of this template can be filled in based off of visual observations and some components must be looked up. This would be great for students to build their independent research and data tracking skills or whole-class check-ins on elements of weather, as they are learned. It can also be a take-home project for students to explore weather on their own. At the bottom of the weekly tracker, there are four questions that prompt students to analyze their own data. It can easily be printed multiple times in order to track over an extended period of time, but overall a great addition to an interactive science journal!
