I am the Head Teacher Of Maria International School Of Bucharest in Romania. I am also very keen at developing different TES teaching resources to discover what works well for different classes. I am constantly looking for new and exciting different ways of presenting and teaching different primary topics, especially maths topics.

I love Wigan Maths. I have used them constantly in my own classroom since 2000. While these assessments don’t match the current curriculum, they are still an excellent tool for reviewing and revising maths. I took the original tests and I have made it so your students can do all the test in one go, or you can give them a single question, give them a little time to resolve the problem and then discuss what is the answer and why. This is the best use of these Wigan maths tests.
These have now been upgraded to include an interactive, dynamic YouTube movie in each PowerPoint. This is because I know teachers are moving away from PowerPoint to YouTube and I thought it would be fun to give them the option of being able to use and share this work directly on YouTube.

My first reading pack (https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/10-free-reading-posters-for-every-key-stage-2-or-key-stage-3-classroom-download-and-share-today-11173701) has proved to be very popular. I thought I would extend it to also include the Keystage 1 classes. You can also click on the on the little heart on this page to say you like it. Also please leave me a nice comment - it is the nice comments which fuel my motivation to create even more of these fun FREE posters. These posters would be perfect for book week, English Literacy Week, Poetry day or simply as a way of getting children to read more.
Look at the posters and get the children to vote on which posters they find effective. Which were less effective? How could they be improved? I would love to know the students feedback below please!
*Spelling mistake corrected - thanks for the comment below!

FREE Magic Train Workbook - 16 Thinking Hat Worksheets - Makes Guided Reading A Lot More Fun For All
I have decided to build as many Thinking Hat resources as I can for TES readers. I have started by making resources for the fabulous Magic Train book (Published by Barefoot books).
I took into account the need for simple text, clear font and I only have used self made resources and public domain resources, I have not used images from the books. I have organised them into sets of three - 3 Red Hat, 3 Yellow Hat, 3 Black Hat, 3 White Hat, 3 Green Hat and 1 Blue Hat. Comments for future improvements welcome.
FREE The Gruffalo Creative Ideas Worksheets - Green Hat Thinking Worksheets Make Reading Fun!
The Gruffalo is a wonderful way to explore the creative side of a child's personality. I have made a series of Green Hat Thinking questions to help let the child think 'out of the box'.
I would love comments from anyone who has used this material in their classroom.

This lesson can then be repeated at home as additional homework.
I have always used the Wigan Maths Tests to prepare the students for their final exams. However, I wanted to improve it, so that I could ask a question and discuss the answer directly on the whiteboard and so I rewrote the tests as PowerPoint presentations. The students could do it together in the classroom or take them home as additional revision.
I love creating Stickman Story Resources. I have focused on making Red Hat Thinking Worksheets tonight. These focus on the different feelings and emotions the central character have. The children have to match feelings to parts of the book, create a feeling graph and also describe how the character would feel in different circumstances.
I love getting feedback on my work and I look forward to hearing if these worksheets were effect in your classroom.
FREE Year 5 PowerPoint Mental Maths Tests (3 weeks)
I love the Wigan Mental Maths tests but I am trying to reduce the amount of paper I have in the classroom and so I have started to convert the Year 5 tests into PowerPoints. I use them weekly, and use the same one twice then I put them online for the parents to use at home.
I am now converting all my PowerPoint presentations into YouTube videos PowerPoint Combos. This means teachers can teach the lesson using either the PowerPoint or Youtube version of the lesson and then share the YouTube lesson with their students’ parents. This lesson can then be repeated at home as additional homework.
I always loved using Wigan maths with my class. I have built an entire set of teaching resources around these defunct tests as I think teachers still want to be able to access and use them as a way of preparing for different assessment tests. I have arranged it so you can either let your class do it all at once or the more efficient revision method where you do a question, check the answer as a class and then discuss the different ways of solving the problem.
