Easy to follow lesson. Students have to organise information about the changes onto a graph before writing up speech bubbles for different types of women to explain how much their life changed and why it did/ did not change. Exam style question to finish.

A lesson that looks at the main factors that led to WW1. Activities include a card sort, a diamond 9 activity which leads in to discussions and higher-order thinking tasks before students write up findings in a newspaper report. Literacy support and a differentiated worksheet provided as well as clear step by step instructions.

A booklet containing a range of activities about life in the trenches during World War One. The activities look at the kit a soldier had to carry, the problems faced on the Western Front (source analysis and creative thinking task), daily routine activity and a No Man's Land task. The final activity requires the students to use their knowledge to create a trench survival guide for new recruits. This can be used for a sequence of lessons or as an independent project/ homework task. I teach this over 3 lessons (2 weeks). The lessons run themselves.

Connectives display posters, which I find incredibly useful for all year groups, especially during DIRT activities (I get the pupils to 'upgrade' their connectives). Common spelling error display also included in this pack. The third resource is a literacy map which I laminate and leave on the student's desks and I refer to this when we discuss writing up paragraphs etc.

This lessons includes a range of activities which enables students to fully understand the key concepts of the settlement, how it was enforced and its impacts on people and churches. A range of hight quality worksheets and information sheets are included as well as an exam style question with useful student friendly tips and literacy support. A homework task is also incorporated into the lesson. As always there are easy to follow instructions and differentiated activities. One of the tasks makes reference to the Pearson textbook however the lesson can easily be taught without this task.

Students learn about the origins of tensions between East and West following the end of WW2 and the concept of hot and cold war and some of the key features of capitalism and communism before analyzing how the Tehran Conference can be seen as the start of tensions between Roosevelt and Stalin and how this meeting strengthened and weakened the Grand Alliance. Handy structure strips that cover all the different types of questions (Edexcel GCSE 9-1, Paper 2 ). I use these for the Superpower Relations and Cold War Unit. They are very useful when preparing students for exam preparation, assessments and writing up questions in lessons. The students also use these to make their own structure strips for revision.I cut out the literacy support and stick this to the reverse of the strip for students to use when they need help with introducing evidence/ examples and phrases for explaining. I hope people find these helpful :)

Time travel Britain! Students learn about Christmas during two different eras; the medieval period and Christmas during the rule of Oliver Cromwell. These two booklets include a range of activities (that need minimal teacher intervention) such as a time travel activity, source analysis, writing up a report about Christmas in the period of study (a differentiated version included with sentence stems and a version without literacy support is included), a stamp making activity, a word search and a quick recap at the end where students change their time travels views based on what they now know. Each book will take the students a 60 minute lesson to work through (so enough material for two lessons here). Enjoy a stress free end of term lesson :-).
