Here is a worksheet on expanding brackets with an accompanying set of worked solutions. Students are encouraged to mirror the shown working clearly (an example is given). Questions get harder as the worksheet progresses, ranging from UK grades 3/4 up to 7-9.
This worksheet also tests general arithmetic, such as multiplying 2 digit numbers and adding 3 and 4 digit numbers.
There is also an activity at the end that encourages students to write their own brackets for their partners to expand.
I would advise that students are taken through more examples before attempting the harder questions in boxes 2 and 3 as there are brackets involving cubic powers and higher.
