This is a 10-15 minute session about domestic abuse suitable for PSHE, tutor time, assemblies or as a longer unit on domestic abuse in a PSHE lesson. It includes sources of support, types of abuse, definitions, key information, downloaded videos and has a plenary quiz. This was originally planned for Year 9 during tutor time but can be used throughout KS3 - KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18). It is linked to the new RSE and Health Curriculum and can also be used to complement the Keeping Safe in Education guidance. This has been received well by students and has taught them how to seek help if needed.

This is a 10-15 minute session about organ donation which links in with the RSE and Health Curriculum for Secondary Schools. It can be used for an assembly, a tutor time session, a whole school event or a PSHE lesson. It can easily be lengthened to last a lesson and has been used successfully with KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18) however it is also suitable for Upper KS2. It contains definitions, information, downloaded videos about what it is and the transplant process. It has a quiz plenary to ensure pupils’ understanding.

This is a presentation for KS2 - KS4 (possibly more suited to Years 6-8) which contains definitions, information, advice, NHS tips and a quiz and reflection question as a plenary. It is suitable for a 10-15 minute tutor time session, assembly or PSHE session. It can easily be lengthened for a whole lesson by getting students to create a menu using all of the tips they have been given. It has been used successfully with Year 7 & 8 students and links to the new RSE and Health Education Curriculum.

It could easily be lengthened for a whole PSHE lesson if required.

This powerpoint is designed to last 10-15 minutes as a presentation to be delivered in tutor time to any of KS3 or KS4 (Years 7-11, Ages 11-16). It contains downloaded videos, definitions, information, quizzes and discussion activities. It does not contain written activities but these could easily be added to create a whole lesson. This is suitable for an assembly, tutor time or whole school session.

This is a 15-20 minute PPoint about the Race and Ethnic Disparities Report published by the Government in 2021. This has information, downloaded videos, discussion questions and a short quiz. It is suitable for KS3, KS4 & KS5 and may be suitable for the upper stage of KS2 to explain to pupils the recent findings of the Commission. This can be used for a tutor time session, a PSHE or Citizenship lesson or a whole school assembly about current events.

This session highlights the important facts about dental hygiene and explains to younger secondary school students or older primary school students how to look after their teeth. It includes reading, discussion activities, downloaded videos and a short quiz. It can be used as a 10-15 minute tutor time session for PSHE or a whole school health focus. It links to the new RSE and Health Curriculum for both Primary and Secondary Schools.

This session is planned to last around 15 minutes as a short introduction for younger Secondary School pupils or older primary school (e.g. Year, 5-8 Ages 9-13). It includes a downloaded video, a short quiz and some important information all children need to know as they start or go through puberty. It has a thinking task and ground rules and can be lengthened to last a whole lesson if needed.

This is a 15 minute PPoint which has videos downloaded and discussion questions about how to stay safe during the coronavirus pandemic now the lockdown has eased. It does not have any written tasks but is most suitable for a tutor time session, an assembly or a short lesson in Sept-Oct 2021. There is a short quiz at the end to test their knowledge. This can be used from KS3-KS5 but is most suitable for KS3 & KS4 students (Years 7-11 Ages 11-16). This is linked to the new RSE and Health Curriculum for Secondary Schools but can easily be used for upper Primary years as well and for a whole school focus on health and safety.

This session is suitable for a tutor time session, assembly or 60 minute lesson introducing PSHE. It also has a short downloaded video about its importance and then discusses the skills learnt and its importance to their lives. It also sets out some guidelines and has an activity to produce their own as a class. This is most suitable for a 10-15 minute tutor time session at the start of a year or to start your PSHE lessons off with the activity to creatively present the ground rules of the class on a tutor notice board or as a competition. This PPoint outlines the news stories that have occured since schools in the UK broke up for the Summer (end of July & August 2021). It has a downloaded inspiring video about the Olympics and is an interactive PowerPoint which requires questioning and discussion of various issues including the relaxation of Covid-19 restrictions. It also finishes with a true and false quiz to test their learning. This will be a session I share with my KS3, KS4 & KS5 (11-18) for their second PSHE tutor time session of the year (the first one being the introduction to PSHE which you can also find in my shop). This is a comprehensive list of all of the online free training courses available for staff to improve their knowledge about topics in the new RSE and Health Curriculum and aid their teaching of PSHE and Citizenship. Each training course has their website, their relevance, timings etc so it is a full list which can be used in a staff training session or put on the Staff online area for people to access throughout the year to complete extra PSHE training courses. Relevant to all Secondary School staff with any interest in PSHE, RSE, safeguarding or mental health.

This is a weekly plan for PSHE in tutor time on a Thursday next year. It cover PSHE and Citizenship topics and also cover areas of Finance Education, Careers, Character Education, SMSC and FBV. This is a 15 minute end of year assembly which could last up to 30 minutes. You can use the script if you need to narrate the PowerPoint or deliver it in-person. This assembly has some videos of hope embedded, some key points of the year, how to stay safe this summer and prepare for the upcoming year. This was originally a 15 minute assembly to Year 10 but can be used for any years from 7-13 (Ages 11-18). You can add some rewards on the end specific to your group or use just this to save yourself some time at the end of the year.

This is a document that outlines some assembly and mental health themes across the year. It includes important topics to cover as well as a few religious festivals and a mental health theme for each week starting September 2021-July 2022. It is for HOY and the pastoral teams to plan the assemblies and tutor time activities. So if you just need a mental health theme or assembly theme for the year you can download this and get it all done for you! This is for KS3-KS5 assemblies (Ages 11-18) but can be used for other year groups too. This does not include assemblies but there are plenty to purchase in my TES shop. I have added a version 2 because we have changed them slightly throughout the first term.

This lesson is to introduce the Philosophy Unit for Religious Studies OCR H573 or H173. It gives a good introduction into what Philosophy is, some key philosophers, important philosophical questions based on reality, discussion and written tasks and embedded videos. It includes the parts of the specification, an introduction to the topics covered and explores key elements of the course. You won’t need anything else to introduce the Philosophy unit at A Level. This was originally a Year 12 KS5 90 minute lesson but can easily be shortened or lengthened to be a 60 minute lesson to introduce Philosophy at KS3 or KS4. This is a fully resourced lesson about how Martin Luther King’s Christian beliefs influenced his actions. It has an excellent starter sheet, carousel activity, discussion tasks, written tasks and an interactive plenary. It goes through the influence of the Bible, group prayer, being a pastor, non-violent protest & Jesus. It includes information on Civil Rights but its focus is on Martin Luther King’s Christian faith. This lesson contains a review about smoking with a quiz and a competition. This was originally part of a PSHE day on smoking for Year 7 but can be used from KS2 - KS4 (Ages 7-16) as a standalone lesson or part of another lesson about smoking. It discusses questions about the law, addiction and chemicals and ends with a competition task for pupils to complete.
