We visited Shoreham High Street and here are the activities and worksheets we used including a sheet for someone working at P8. An ICT activity to complete beforehand too. An initial wander into the world of negative numbers for year 5. I have included the first day's plan for three sets, the learning intention with 'I can' statements and 11 worksheets that get progressively harder. (The hardest sheets have answers too.) This day's work was written for an average year 5 cohort, ranging from A.R.E. year 3 to A.R.E. year 5. The initial set has negative numbers in context with number lines to support, the second set has more abstract calculations branching into reasoning at the higher end and the third set has very complex abstract calculations such as 4 - (-6)-(-8).
