Faringdon Community College

Faringdon Community College opened under its current name in 2000, having previously been known as Tollington Secondary Modern School. Located in the town of Faringdon, Oxfordshire, the school provides a co-educational secondary education for students aged 11-18.

In 2012, the school became part of the Faringdon Academy of Schools, alongside seven others. The Faringdon Academy of Schools includes institutions at all stages of children’s education and allows providers in the local area to work more closely together.

Faringdon Community College provides for around 1,500 secondary and sixth-form students.

Faringdon Community College considers its ultimate goal to be academic success for pupils. Teachers seek to achieve this by instilling a work ethic and a sense of personal responsibility in students, as well as recognising and harnessing the innate individualism and talents of each young person.

As a part of Faringdon Academy of Schools, the school has strong ties to the local community and seeks to develop connections with local institutions for the benefit of students.

Excellent relationships between teachers and students, and between students themselves, contribute to a positive atmosphere for learning and there is very good individual support for students in lessons."
