Outwood Academy Riverside is the first Free School within the Outwood Family, and we are delighted to be based in the large, friendly, north-east town of Middlesbrough.

We are a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child. We place children at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning.

Taking a holistic approach to education, valuing vocational, practical, creative, and academic qualities equally and since joining the Outwood Family in 2020 we have been establishing ourselves and helping more and more students.

We believe that learning should be both enjoyable and enriching. We are innovators with a knowledge-rich curriculum, designed to personalise learning for every student, helping them to reach their potential.

The Outwood Family of Schools pride ourselves on fully supporting colleagues within the Family both professionally and personally.

We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

As a founding Trust of the National Institute of Education (NIoT), we will actively invest in your future through working closely with the Outwood Institute of Education and NIoT to offer access to a wide range of CPD opportunities, with all teaching staff receiving a minimum of two hours of CPD each week.
