About The Hesley Village College
Hesley Village and College provides accommodation, vocational opportunities, education and therapeutic services for up to 70 young people with severe challenging behaviour resulting form autism and / or severe learning difficulties.
Curriculum:
We build upon earlier experiences and skills in order to educate, train and support students/residents in achieving as effective transition to adulthood and independence as possible. The Hesley Post 16 Curriculum is based on life long learning and consists of key skills, life skills and work skills and each resident has an individual Learning Plan.
Hesley Village and College has a superbly equipped Educational and Vocational centre and runs successful work placements and mini-enteprise schemes both on and off site.
Specialist Facilities:
The Village centre development includes a general store, clothes shop, bank, hairdressers, beauticians, medical centre, Sports Hall, Village Hall, cinema, brasserie and bar. The facilities are used by the residents to practise their skills in a safe and non-judgemental environment. They then have greater confidence ad the ability to successfully achieve transference of these skills into the wider community.
