About Wardle Academy

Ethos and Values

At Wardle Academy, we have a commitment to providing a transformational educational experience for our students. We have very high expectations of our community in everything that we do, and firmly believe that personal development and academic success are complimentary. We empower our students to make a positive impact on our academy, our community and the wider world.

As a community, we all follow The Wardle Way, regardless of our role or position within the academy and wider community. This is the foundation of excellent relationships between colleagues and students and acts as our guide throughout each and every day.

Staff development is at the heart of all we do

Joining the Wardle Academy team is an exciting step in your career. You will be supported throughout your induction and provided with excellent professional development opportunities throughout your career to help all colleagues progress professionally and ensure we offer the best possible provision to our students. We are ambitious in our drive for continual improvement, and innovate to provide the best development programme possible for our colleagues. A significant proportion of our staff have been with us for a number of years so regardless of what stage you are at in your career your development will be supported.

Our PPA allocation is also higher than the national average to give our staff time to reflect and develop their pedagogy.

Staff Feedback:

I started as an NQT and I’m now a Director of Faculty for Humanities. The culture at Wardle is simple… we are a close knit community who support each other, we’re very much a family here at Wardle” - Dave Baugh, Director of Humanities

“In my third year of teaching I have been given the opportunity and support to act as a Head of Year, this role coupled with my teaching allows me to support our community both academically and pastorally” - Joe Howarth - Head of Year 7

Make a wider contribution to our Academy

Ensuring every colleague has an opportunity to contribute to the wider academy is of imperative importance to us. We have extensive opportunities for colleagues to support the students’ personal development, through our music and sporting provision, our excellent Academy performances, and a range of other co-curricular opportunities.

If you’re searching for your next post, why not contact us now?
