Westville House School alongside Westville Woodlands, our early years unit, is a co-educational preparatory school for children aged 2 to 11. We are located in Ilkey, West Yorkshire, on the edge of the stunning Yorkshire Dales.

Our vision at Westville House School is simple: deliver educational excellence to maximise the potential of every child.
We promote a family ethos and values and nuture well-rounded and happy children prepared for a life beyond Westville.
From the minute a child begins their journey at Westville, they are valued as individuals. Our wish is that each child has an education which is tailored to their needs; to nurture, challenge and excite. We want our children to thrive, learn from each other and build enduring friendships.
Our staff
We have a team of committed and talented teachers, and offer specialist teaching across key subject areas, including English and Maths, Music, Drama, Languages and Art. Staff are supported to develop a diverse and challenging curriculum and to explore varied and enriching opportunities for learning both inside and outside of the classroom.
Beyond the classroom
We encourage our staff to celebrate all talents and there are a host of extra-curricular clubs designed to suit every child. As children progress they are exposed to a variety of activities from cultural visits to skiing and adventure training.
The school’s motto Quotidie Opus Novum – something new every day – sums up the excitement and opportunity of coming to Westville House, for both pupils and staff alike.
Location
Amidst all the present uncertainties, we have been extremely impressed at the lengths to which Westville has gone to, to maintain our children's education. Continuing to deliver a full timetable of lessons from specialist teachers, whilst keeping primary school-aged children interested and engaged in virtual classrooms, is no mean feat - but delivering you are! Thank you, Westville staff, your hard work, energy and dedication is palpable".
- Current parentWe moved our son to Westville 4 years ago when it became evident that he wasn't progressing in his current school. He was just 7 years old at the time. Within 6 months Westville had helped establish that he was dyslexic & unable to learn through phonics. Since then, and with the extra support available, he has flourished and has recently secured a scholarship to Giggleswick for Senior School. Most importantly he has experienced a really well rounded education with lots of sports, which is his passion. We can't thank Westville enough and now also have his younger sister at the school.
