About Wychwood School
"Academic excellence through creativity of thought"
Wychwood is an academically strong and pastorally outstanding day and boarding school in the centre of North Oxford for pupils aged 11-18. As a smaller school we have a wonderful family atmosphere and spirit where every single member of staff is valued and an essential part of our combined aim: to achieve academic excellence through creativity of thought by providing education of the highest quality in a well-rounded and happy environment.

Values and Vision
Wychwood School sets a high academic standard for its pupils. Admission for prospective pupils involves an entrance test, with entrants into the school sixth form being required to take examinations in whichever A Levels they are looking to study. As well as its high-quality curriculum, Wychwood takes great pride in the personal and spiritual development of its pupils, and to this end offers a range of extra-curricular activities, including numerous international field trips, performing arts opportunities and sports. The school also seeks to create a strong sense of community among its students, particularly boarders, and as such encouraged older boarders to support new students.
ISI Inspection
“The teaching methods used are devised to enable good progress for pupils by encouraging them to develop skills and understanding, and acquire new knowledge. Time is managed effectively. Teaching is characterised by well-planned lessons that take into account individual needs and prior attainment, including for those with SEND, English as an additional language (EAL) and the more able pupils.”
