Assistant Headteacher : Assessment, Reporting and Recording

We are seeking a dynamic new Assistant Headteacher of Secondary who has a passion and understanding of whole school assessment and the utilisation of data for the purpose of evaluation, recording and reporting. We believe that high quality assessment is essential for ‘everyone to excel’.

Established in 1964, International School Brunei (ISB) has 60 years of experience as a non-profit, vibrant, inclusive school. The successful candidate will be joining a positive and collegiate Secondary Leadership Team. They will line manage and closely work with a range of middle leaders including Heads of Faculty, Heads of Year, Head of Learning Support and other managers and teachers. The successful candidate will also work closely with the Primary Leadership Team to ensure that our policies and procedures are joined up and support student learning and progression throughout the school. We all seek to ‘inspire, build and succeed’. 

The ideal candidate will have experience of leading assessment, reporting and recording strategies, systems and operations at a whole school level. They will understand how an evidence-based approach can support not only academic success but also student well-being at all levels. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator enabling different stakeholders to interpret and analyse a range of data that will lead to intervention, support and positive change. Please note, specific responsibilities may change depending on the candidate and SLT experiences and strengths as well as the needs of the school.

The successful candidate will have (as a minimum):

·      a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

·       PGCE or equivalent teaching diploma

·      preferably hold a Master’s Degree with an education/leadership specialism or hold the NPQ qualification
