We are a comprehensive inner London secondary school with a diverse intake of students from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures. We were graded as Good in all aspects during our last Ofsted Inspection (April 2023).
We are looking to appoint an Assistant School Business Manager to support whole school administration. This role has been created to ensure progression to the full Business Manager role (April 2027) The ideal candidate should have experience within school administration and the day to day business of a school community.
You should have;
· A clear understanding of the importance of trust and integrity.
· Experience of working within a school business team.
· Knowledge, understanding and experience in Arbor/FMS/SIMs and Access alongside the normal Microsoft and Google packages.
· A proactive, flexible and reliable approach
· Good, clear communications skills at all levels.
· Experience of operational/strategic planning and diary management.
· Outstanding time management.
· Undertaken a School Business Management certificated course or enrolled in the programme leading to certification.
· Aspire to progress to the full role of Business Manager.
This role is advertised at SO1 to PO1, the job description gives the basic details of what the job can involve, this is used to give candidates an overall view of our expectations, but please note:
* The salary grade given will be dependent on experience.
* The job will be subject to a 6-month probationary period.
* The job description will evolve according to the level of experience of the successful candidate but will not go beyond PO1 in the first instance.
This role is 5 days per week, office based. Applications to work from home will not be considered at this time.

Arts & Media School Islington is a co-educational, comprehensive trust foundation school in north Islington, London.
The Victorian school building was originally home to Montem Street School, later becoming known as Tollington Park Secondary School and, more recently, as George Orwell School.
