About the Role
The ESOL provision at Exeter College has gone from strength to strength with increasing numbers of learners, and a pattern of rising success rates over several years. The provision is growing, and we have a high number of asylum seekers and refugees joining our courses. We run courses at the following levels: pre-entry, entry 1, entry 2, entry 3, level 1 and level 2.
We are looking for an experienced ESOL teacher to teach part-time. Our 3-hour classes run twice a week in the morning, afternoon, or evening. At the moment, we predict that there will be a need for a teacher/s to deliver on Monday and Wednesday mornings 9.30-12.30, Tuesday and Friday afternoons 13.30 -16.30 and evening classes (which run from 18.00-21.00). We will not be able to confirm the days, times and levels of the classes until after the recruitment period.
The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching ESOL at a range of levels and of working with asylum seekers and refugees. Excellent communication and collaboration skills and a dynamic approach to teaching and learning are essential. We are looking for well-qualified lecturers with experience of teaching ESOL Skills for Life and developing learners’ literacy skills.
You will be joining Exeter College’s Professional and Adult Learning faculty, which is proactive in working with employers and the local community to deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment. Those without a general teaching qualification who have a recognised specialised teaching qualification for teaching EFL/ESOL may still apply as we offer comprehensive training and development to all our staff.
