About the role

We are seeking passionate and dynamic Associate Lecturers with expertise in Food Buying & Merchandising to join our Apprenticeships team at Education for Industry Training. Successful candidates will contribute to the exceptional delivery of our Apprenticeship provision to our corporate clients, ensuring alignment with externally accredited standards and qualifications.

As an Associate Lecturer, you will plan, organise and deliver exceptional teaching activities for the cohort, ensuring every learner receives the highest quality teaching, learning and feedback, successfully preparing them for progression in industry. You will be responsible for creating and delivering industry relevant content, in line with the course and wider programme objectives.


About you

  • Relevant degree or above.
  • A relevant professional qualification within subject area or related area.
  • A recognised teaching qualification or working towards completing a teaching qualification would be desirable.
  • You will have experience delivering apprenticeship standards
  • Current expert operational knowledge of the relevant industry.
  • Broad knowledge of current theory and relevant practice related to a specialist subject.
  • Best practice teaching and learning approaches.
  • You will have experience of coaching and mentoring learners to achieve high levels of success and outcomes.
  • You will have experience of helping learners to relate learning to work and the ability to contextualise theory within the learner’s work role and culture.
  • You will have a proven track record of delivering learner portfolios and assignments on time and to agreed standards.
  • You will have experience of building and developing strong relationships with employers and communities.


Desirable Skills (or willingness to obtain)

  • A relevant industry related qualification at Level 3 or above.
  • Experience in delivering Apprenticeship standards at Level 3 and above.
  • Experience of teaching Functional Skills at Level 2 in English and Maths.
  • A valid and recognised teaching/training qualification.
  • Either D32/D33/A1/CAVA.

Hourly rate

£37.58 an hour, inclusive of teaching, preparation and associated pedagogic work, on Levels 2, 3 and 4, and £42 an hour, inclusive of teaching and associated pedagogic work on Levels 5 and 6. Non-teaching duties across provisions, including course development work, are paid at £23.85 per hour inclusive.
