Aurora Ivy Lane School is a 'Good' (Ofsted, October 2023) rated innovative provider of specialist education, supporting young people aged 11 - 19 with complex needs including autism, moderate and severe learning disabilities; speech, language, communication and interaction needs and behaviours that can challenge. We work hard to ensure students have a holistic and supportive environment, enabling them to flourish and develop in all aspects of life.
Based in Wakefield; we are currently looking to recruit School Cleaners on a bank/casual basis to provide a cleaning service for the school across all types of rooms, including offices, classrooms, corridors, and toilets. As a bank staff member, you will be able to choose what shifts you want to take on, giving you a great deal of flexibility.
Key Duties:
- Vacuuming/cleaning floors.
- Spot cleaning of spillages.
- Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polishing door glass.
- Emptying and cleaning bins (daily).
- Cleaning toilets including sanitary fittings and surrounds.
- Mopping and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces.
- Wiping, dusting, cobweb removal, polishing.
- Replenishing janitorial supplies in toilets, etc (daily).
- Undertake deep clean as and when required.
- Checking and closing windows, switching off lights after work and ensure the building is secure on exit.
- Such other duties as may be allocated from time to time.
Like many SEN environments, your duties are likely to vary and therefore candidates will need to be flexible and be able to lend a hand whenever required.
Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
- Some knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations in regards to cleaning equipment and cleaning materials.
- Ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to prioritise work and be flexible.
- Experience of undertaking a range of cleaning duties.
