Job overview

Edge Grove is a vibrant and successful preparatory school, for boys and girls aged 2 to 13, from a rich diversity of cultural backgrounds. Our uniquely child-centred education supports pupils to learn the intrinsic value of academic, co-curricular and pastoral independence and develop the skills needed for future success in education, employment and life. We are fortunate to be situated within 48 acres of parkland, only 15 miles from central London and conveniently located close to the M1 and M25 motorways. Our wonderful setting and facilities ensure our children benefit from a wide range of experiences and develop confidence in a challenging, fun and inspirational environment.

Our school is looking to appoint a Bursar to lead the non-teaching departments of Edge Grove. As senior leaders, the Head & Bursar, together with the Governing Body, will be responsible for establishing and implementing the vision and direction for the School.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, and be well versed in, the areas of Finance, Estates, IT, HR, General Operations, Health & Safety plus Compliance & Commercial. He or she will also act as Clerk to the Governing Body.

Previous school experience is preferred but not a prerequisite, and applications are invited from a range of backgrounds. The key requirements are financial and commercial qualifications and awareness, staff management, project management and an ability to manage a number of tasks concurrently. On top of this there needs to be a real empathy towards schools.
