About Mother Teresa Primary School 
Mother Teresa School caters for students from four years of age, where students are enrolled in our Early Learning Centre, to students in Year Six. Our school motto “do small things with great love” inspires us to care for fellow members of our school community as well as reach out into the wider community. The School prides itself on the diverse range of activities it offers students and this is due to the generosity and expertise of the staff.  

About the Role 
The Classroom Support Assistant (CSA) is a member of the Mother Teresa School Diverse Learning Team (TDL). The role of the CSA is to provide in class support and collaborate with Teachers to provide the require targeted programs and assistance to students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Classroom Teachers and students with day-to-day activities 
  • Keep confidential, matters relating to students and their families and matters within the classroom and school.
  • Demonstrate initiative, liaise, and work collaboratively with Classroom Teachers to provide learning support for students.
  • Support students by listening, directing, explaining, reassuring, encouraging, re-directing, and reinforcing.
  • Prepare specialised learning materials as directed by the Classroom Teacher and/or Diverse Learning Coordinator.
  • Support students in whole school activities such as sporting events and attend professional learning and staff spirituality days.  

Qualifications 

  • Current Working with Vulnerable People registration. 
  • Relevant Qualifications in Education Support (Cert III/Certificate IV/Diploma) is beneficial. 

Selection Criteria 

  1. A willingness to contribute to the community life of the school.
  2. An ability to assist in the implementation of an effective model of service to support teachers in the classroom
  3. Experience working with high needs students and/or training would be an advantage.

  • You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible to apply for this position. 
  • Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.
