An exciting opportunity has arisen at St Michael's First School which is part of Beacon Education. Trustees, staff, parents and pupils are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to work in our team. We are an ambitious and loving family school, teaching children from Reception to Year 4, located in and around the popular and historic seaside town of Minehead with easy access to the stunning Exmoor National Park. This striking coastline makes West Somerset a delightful place to live and raise a family.

The successful applicant will be a positive, hardworking, skilled and ambitious practitioner who wants to make a real difference to children’s lives and is ready and able to take on a role teaching our children and working in harmony with staff, families and other key stakeholders. Our staff are motivated to improve the learning journey for every single pupil in our care. Staff are dedicated to improving the life chances of the children in our community.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated teacher who has the ability to bring learning to life and will relish the opportunity to work with our very youngest pupils at the most exciting stage of their learning journey. You will be able to inspire our children to become independent, enthusiastic learners and be a team player who is eager to take on challenges.

We are looking for a Teacher who:

• Believes in, and wants to be part of, the vision and values of our schools

• Has a keen interest in children's development 

• Can demonstrate successful experience teaching and engaging children’s interest to a high standard.

• Can demonstrate a comprehensive and confident knowledge of delivery at year 6 level

• Be innovative in creating stimulating learning opportunities

• Support all aspects of the school's work

• Have a commitment to safeguarding children in our care.
