The Island Private School of Limassol in Cyprus opened for the first 500 students in September 2022, and is now looking for competent, experienced and, above all, passionate College Counselor to join the team.
We are also in the process of planning our new school campus on a beautiful 50,000 m2 site to be completed approximately by the end of 2025, that will include kindergartens, elementary and high schools, an international boarding school, and accommodation for teachers. This is a great opportunity to join a growing school on the cusp of a major turning point.
Responsibilities:
- Engagement and Interaction – School Ambassador to Internal Community:
- Promote the school's mission and philosophy.
- Establish a safe, purposeful learning environment for all students.
- Promote the progress and well-being of all students
- Engage and motivate the students to be ambitious for themselves and others
- Supervise students during both curricular and extracurricular activities.
- Participate in extracurricular duties that contribute to the school’s growth.
- Individualised College Counseling:
- Work with high school students to create personalised college plans, including academic and extracurricular recommendations, standardised testing strategies, and course selection.
- College Application Support:
- Assist students in preparing and submitting college applications, including helping with essays, resumes, and other required materials.
- Admissions Testing:
- Provide guidance on SAT/ACT test preparation, registration, and strategies for success.
- College Research:
- Stay current on college admissions trends and maintain a database of colleges and universities worldwide, including their programs, admission requirements, and scholarships.
- Financial Aid and Scholarships:
- Advise students and parents on financial aid options, scholarships, and assist with the FAFSA and CSS Profile applications.
- Interview Preparation:
- Conduct mock interviews and prepare students for college admissions interviews.
- Campus Visits:
- Organise college fairs, campus visits, and informational sessions to expose students to various college options.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in education or counseling.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Understanding of college admissions processes, requirements, and trends.
- Ability to empathize with students and patience in addressing their concerns.
- Effective organizational skills to manage caseloads and conduct workshops.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 18:00 (maximum 8 hours per day).
