COMMUNICATION SUPPORT ASSISTANT FOR DEAF STUDENTS


Hours of work are 8.20am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, term time only, 30 hours and 25 minutes per week


BSL Level 3: £18,777 - £19,679 per annum, inclusive of Crawley Market Supplement

BSL Level 6: £20,311 - £22,003 per annum, inclusive of Crawley Market Supplement

 

We are looking for an engaging and motivated person who can sign at BSL Level 3 or above, to join our team of Communication Support Assistants, who support deaf students.


• The role will involve supporting students in lessons as well as working 1:1 with students and running small group intervention sessions

• You should have a good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills

• Classroom experience or experience of working with young deaf people will be an advantage

• Being aware of how to help deaf students access the curriculum is essential

• The successful candidate will be offered a place on an accredited BSL course. Support and training will be provided as necessary.  

• BSL level 6 is preferred but we will consider candidates who have BSL Level 3.
