Job overview
Treloar School & College are looking to appoint a Communication Support Worker (CSW) to support an identified deaf student.
The ideal candidate will have British Sign Language (BSL) at a minimum of Level 3. However, for the right candidate we will consider Level 2 with a commitment to undertake Level 3 within 12 months of appointment.
You will be required to provide communication support and guided teaching support to a student with a hearing loss and additional, mobility, communication and language needs. You will support the student to achieve full access to learning within the curriculum whilst promoting their independence.
The role is linked to a specific student attending Treloar School & College.
The successful applicant will be well supported by the class teacher, SENCO/ Deputy Head, onsite Speech & Language Therapy department and the visiting Specialist Teacher Advisor for Hearing impairment to help them meet the needs of the student and develop confidence within the role.
