Job overview
Outwood Academy Acklam, Middlesbrough, seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Computer Science Teacher to join our current team.
About the department
Our faculty comprises Art, Design Technology, Hospitality & Catering, Computer Science and Business Studies. The team consists of seven passionate teachers, each with their own areas of expertise and experience; we are also supported by two specialist technicians who cover DT, Art and Catering. The faculty was formed in April 2023 when Technologies, Art and Computing joined together under the leadership of our Head of Faculty, Mrs K Smith. As a faculty, we provide most of the KS4 option subjects across the school and therefore have a unique opportunity to expertly support our students in building their future. We work collaboratively as a team to ensure our students get the best of specialist teaching across the range of subjects whilst also ensuring that all of our teachers have a network of open, supportive and friendly peers to rely on.
About the role
As a subject teacher, you will be required to complete the professional duties that are expected of a UK qualified teacher in accordance with academy policies and procedures and your subject specialism.
You should promote the achievement of high standards through effective teaching and learning within your subject area, including the preparation, application and development of lesson resources in alignment with the curriculum, as directed by your department head and senior leaders within the academy.
You will be responsible for effective classroom management and the coordination of class work with any classroom support staff that are present. You must evaluate lessons and incorporate student views and responses to reflect and identify areas of development.
Applicants must hold UK QTS and, if trained overseas, have the relevant evidence that your qualification equates to UK QTS.
