Due to internal progression, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and driven Course Leader for Maths and English to join the Apprenticeship Department at Barnsley College.

The department works with a wide range of employers to develop their Apprentices’ Maths and English skills to enable them to succeed and progress within their chosen occupation.

Course Leader - Maths and English

Apprenticeships

Permanent vacancy - 37 hours per week

£33,179 to £38,452 per annum

We are looking for a learner centric Course Leader who is determined to ensure Apprentices achieve their full potential. You will line manage a small team of Trainers to ensure high standards of delivery and assessment, as well as supporting with teaching across the range of Functional Skills courses.

In this role, you will help to set up new methods and courses of curriculum delivery to contribute to the overall growth and development of the department. This will include working closely with external stakeholders, Apprenticeship Managers and Trainers to ensure that learners are receiving the correct support to achieve timely completion and are well prepared for their End Point Assessment. You will also liaise with employers to provide updates on learner progression and discuss areas of improvement. Ideally, we are looking for someone with the previous knowledge and experience of Functional Skills delivery and be motivated to inspire along with a passion to transform lives and make a difference.
