Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Salary: Caister Academy Scale F, points 12 to 17

£21,190 to £23,074 actual (£26,421 to £28,770 FTE)

Hours: 34.5hrs per week Term time plus 1 week (39 weeks per year)

 

About our School:

Caister Academy is one of Norfolk’s leading co-educational secondary schools, situated in the coastal village of Caister-on-sea, just 20 miles from the vibrant and historical city of Norwich. Caister Academy's 2024 Ofsted report praises the school ‘Good’ in all categories, notably capturing that “Pupils know how to behave, and they do so well”. The report also states that the “Classrooms are quiet spaces which are highly conducive to learning”.

 It specialises in literature and performing arts, with aspirations to lead nationally in all areas. As part of Creative Education Trust, we work in collaboration with other local Academies, and we contribute to and receive development opportunities and support from Creative Education at a national level.

About the Cover Team

Our cover team play an integral role in ensuring the student learning experience remains high quality when their usual teacher is absent. Our students value having the familiar face of a Caister Academy colleague who knows our lesson structure and behaviour systems. If you like the idea of supporting students in a range of lessons and ensuring they maximise their learning time, you could be a great addition to the cover team at Caister Academy.

 

About You:

To ensure consistency of high-quality educational provision for students when cover is required, predominantly in the classroom, but occasionally in other areas of the school.

Requirements:

  • Educated to a high level of education.
  • Proven experience working in an education environment.
  • Previous classroom supervision experience and working with pupils in class either 1:1 or in groups / classes.
  • Proven Experience in classroom management.
  • Ability to work in a team collaboratively with other staff.
