As a Cover Supervisor you will be responsible for supervising students during short-term teacher absences. This can be in lessons of any subject, using the cover work set by their teacher.

You DO NOT need to be a qualified teacher, although a number of people that have previously undertaken this role have successfully used it as a stepping stone into teacher training, and gone on to become fantastic teachers! You DO need to be able to positively interact with young people, and have the ability to motivate and challenge students in order to maintain a positive learning environment.

The successful candidate will be involved with organising the daily cover rota, and liaising with our approved partners to arrange external supply staff when required. Whereas teacher absences are often planned (due to meetings, training, school trips etc), there are unplanned absences that crop up too (illness, family emergencies etc), and therefore having the ability to plan effectively and think on your feet is a key requirement in order to be successful in this role.

Applications are also welcome from candidates looking for part-time opportunities.
