Oak Academy is an 11-16 academy, part of Ambitions Academy Trust since 2017, which is perfectly placed within the community to deliver high quality teaching and learning. We are a rapidly improving academy with a new principal in post since May 2022, who works proudly alongside both established and newly appointed colleagues, driven by the shared belief that every student has the right to learn, grow and achieve. It is this ethos that motivates all members of our community in improving the academic outcomes and life-chances of students. We value collaboration and open communication at all levels and see the relationship between parents, staff and students as crucial in our shared success.

Promoting a ‘no excuses’ culture of learning, students at Oak Academy play a significant role in creating the warm and friendly atmosphere that makes daily life at Oak so special. This, alongside a culture driven by continued professional development of staff, ensures an environment that thrives on personal growth and success at all levels.

Oak Academy has been selected to be part of the Governments School Rebuilding Programme and plans are well advanced for a complete rebuild of the current site. We are delighted that staff and students will finally have the building they deserve with a planned completion date of September 2024.

Teachers seek to support and challenge students of all academic abilities through inspirational and dynamic lessons.

Our inclusion support aims to foster students’ self-belief, determination, resilience and a respect for others through our assembly and Learning for Life programme.

Our extra-curricular offer promotes a wide range of opportunities for students before, after and within the school day along with a growing number of opportunities to explore life outside of Oak both Nationally and Internationally.
