Job overview

The Role

Uppingham Cairo is delighted to invite applications for the post of Deputy Director of Sport and Enrichment. Uppingham Cairo will be a K-12 day school and opened in September 2024. It is located at New Giza, approximately 15 km west of central Cairo and within sight of the pyramids at Giza. Construction of the school, offering class-leading facilities, is currently on schedule, and the admissions office will become operational on the school site in September 2023.

This will be a key strategic position, reporting to the Head of PE and Competitive Sports. The sports department at Uppingham Cairo seeks to provide ‘sport for all, whilst striving for excellence’. All students are given ample opportunity to experience a range of sporting activities that they enjoy. We aim to promote achievement, progress and excellence, whilst at the same time fostering the development of self-confidence in every child. After school each day, as part of the extracurricular programme, students have the opportunity to take part in multitude of sports training activities. A huge breadth of sports are on offer and range from individual activities to the more traditional team sports. Through these activities, students learn the value of being physically active and develop positive personal and social attitudes. Under the auspices of the Director of Sport and enrichment, the sports department runs Six academies that offer sport year-round to our students in football, gymnastics, swimming, tennis, basketball and squash. The academies offer an entry point into the respective sports, but they also ensure developing athletes receive focused training. Our highly qualified coaches and state-of-the-art facilities provide the optimum environment to nurture athletic talent.
