Al Khor International School (AKIS) is a 4 to 18, co-educational and non-selective international school. The opportunity:

We are seeking a caring and dynamic leader who is passionate about making learning a valuable and enjoyable experience, and is committed to promoting the well-being of children. The successful candidate will line manage a key phase and have responsibility for leading curriculum, assessment, or teaching and learning across the primary school. A member of the primary leadership team s/he will play a critical role in supporting the personal development of students and ensuring high levels of achievement.

Skills and qualities:

• Commitment to student well-being and learning
•  Degree and teaching certificate (or B.Ed. degree)
• Leadership qualification (e.g. MA or NPQSL/NPQH) desirable
• Leadership experience in a British or international school
• High-level of cultural awareness and sensitivity
• Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to promoting the culture, values and traditions of Qatar, and celebrating the diversity of the school community
• The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the local community, and to be a positive role model as an ambassador for the school
• The ability to lead by example, and inspire and motivate others
• The ability to create a safe, stimulating and respectful learning environment
• Calm, friendly and diplomatic
• Creative, flexible and resilient, and the ability to work well under pressure
• Commitment to comply with company policies and the regulations of the Qatar Ministry of Education and Higher Education
