Job overview

The Director of Gifted & Talented will provide strategic direction for the Gifted and Talented (GT) programs within the Pre-university Education for 12 schools. Incumbent will also be responsible to design and implement innovative educational programs to meet the unique needs of gifted and talented students, foster a supportive learning environment, and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the success and growth of the G&T Center. Ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall effective leadership of the gifted and talented programs across 12 schools.

The Director of Gifted & Talented will be responsible for:

  • Establish policies and procedures to identify exceptionally abled students for categories of intellectual, specific academic, creativity, leadership, sport, and visual and performing arts.
  • Establish a guideline for the development and implementation of QF schools Inclusion Policy.
  • Stay informed about current trends, research, and international best practice models in gifted education.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and structure to a QFS wide Gifted and Talented education program, to assist schools with identification and support for students; promoting a collaborative and cohesive learning culture; ensure that all decisions and processes are designed to improve student learning.
  • Lead specialists, teachers, and schools to design and implement enrichment activities, projects, and competitions to stimulate intellectual curiosity and creativity.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to integrate G&T strategies and resources into mainstream classrooms.
  • Plan and manage programs that cater for gifted students in and out of Qatar Foundation schools.
  • Make sound and financially sustainable decisions when planning programs based on operational needs.
  • Market the programs and encourage schools to participate; to grow and develop the QF Gifted Hub brand across Qatar and coordinate with school leadership and S4 Psychologists to identify gifted students.
  • Provide curriculum support and design, planning and development including consultancy for schools adopting a gifted program.
  • Provide adequate teacher professional learning and build capacity of teachers and leaders on inclusive practices.
  • Supervise with school based Gifted Coordinator hiring; Lead monthly meetings, coaching and facilitation to new appointments.
  • Establish appropriate and consistent written procedures for the program and evaluate these annually and ensure compliance with the approved policies and procedures.
  • Establish and build working relationships with partners including parents, teachers, school administrators and other educational professionals, and community members to enable students to reach their full potential.
  • Provide research-informed insights on classroom teaching strategies that allow for effective differentiation practices that cater for Gifted students.
  • Develop, implement, scores/norms and analyze required assessments regarding student data for placement.
  • Determine and implement appropriate pre-assessment tools are used to understand the students’ current level and make adjustments to ensure that the student is always learning something new
  • Order, maintain, distribute, and interpret multiple instruments for required assessments of diverse populations.
  • Serve as liaison between PUE, MoEHE, Private Schools in Qatar, and the International Centers of Excellence for Gifted and Talented
  • Other reasonable tasks assigned by supervisor


Candidates must meet following qualification and experience requirements:

  • Master’s degree in education or related field, preferably in Gifted and Talented Education
  • 8+ years of relevant full-time work experience in a related field.
  • Extensive background and experience in tests/ measurement and curriculum, instruction, and assessment for G&T. (Preferred)
  • A thorough knowledge of Gifted and Talented instructional theory, practice, and pedagogy.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
