Lumio Private School is a new not-for-profit international school located in Acheleia, near Paphos, Cyprus. The school will open its doors in September 2024 for grades 1 to 9. With a stunning 6.8-hectare site currently undergoing renovation, Lumio offers modern classrooms, well-equipped science and IT labs, dedicated spaces for arts and sports, and a variety of extracurricular activities. The school is conveniently accessible from major motorways.

This is a full-time on-site role as the EAL Learning Support Assistant at Lumio Private School. We'd love someone with the ability to reach the hearts of diverse student backgrounds and possess the talent to turn lessons into fun learning experiences. This dynamic position will allow assistants to implement innovative learning strategies and build a learning environment that respects and acknowledges cultural diversity.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role is required.
  • Experience working in an international school setting is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and staff. Advanced or native-level proficiency in English.
  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguarding: Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students at all times, following school policies and procedures relate to safeguarding, health and safety protocols, emergency procedures, and child protection. 
  • Classroom learning support: Support teachers in delivering lessons and facilitating learning activities.
  • Small group interventions: Work with small groups of students to reinforce learning objectives, provide additional instruction, and offer targeted interventions to support students’ academic progress.
  • Inclusion: Embrace and foster the school’s inclusive culture.  
  • Resource preparation: Prepare teaching materials, resources, and equipment for lessons and activities.. 
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with mentors.
