We are looking for an English Area Coordinator for our bilingual school. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing the British curriculum, contributing to the ongoing development of innovative and collaborative teaching practices. The role requires strong educational leadership, effective resource management, and an approach focused on the development of two different but integrated systems of thought.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation of the British curriculum in the school.
- Coordinate the English teaching team, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure the achievement of educational goals.
- Facilitate the adoption of innovative teaching methods, such as Flipped Classroom, Enquiry-Based Learning, and the integrated use of new technologies in education.
- Promote connection with the preschool to facilitate the transition of students to Primary school and ensure continuity of the educational journey, encouraging families to continue the path in our school.
- Integrate the British curriculum with the Italian curriculum in a synergistic way, fostering effective collaboration between the two cultures and ensuring a balanced educational experience.
Essential Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of the British curriculum for school and the ability to adapt it to bilingual contexts.
- Proven experience in educational management or team leadership roles in the school environment.
- Teamwork skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a multidisciplinary team of teachers.
- Flexibility and open-mindedness, with the ability to quickly adapt to curricular and organizational changes.
- Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies such as Flipped Classroom, Enquiry-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, and the practical use of educational technologies (e.g., digital platforms, online collaborative tools).
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to solve problems and manage conflicts constructively.
- Pragmatism: the ability to turn visions and ideas into practical and actionable plans.
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of the Italian national curriculum and the ability to integrate it to promote a balanced and coherent educational approach.
- Professional or personal experience in bilingual or international educational contexts.
- Knowledge and interest in inclusive education and managing cultural diversity in the classroom.
Technical Skills (Hard Skills):
- Advanced digital skills: proficiency in digital educational tools and platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Seesaw, Kahoot, applications for managing feedback).
- Data-driven education: the ability to use data (tests, assessments, observations) to guide educational decisions and improve student performance.
- Continuous professional development: commitment to staying updated on new technologies, methodologies, and educational research.
Personal Skills (Soft Skills):
- Collaborative leadership: ability to inspire and lead a team, supporting the professional growth of colleagues through constructive feedback and coaching.
