About Bury Church Of England High School

Bury Church of England High School is a successful and vibrant Church of England Academy, part of the Bishop Fraser Trust. We are an 11-16 school with 810 places and are significantly over subscribed. The school was established in 1748 and we are proud to have served the Bury and wider community for over 250 years. We joined the Bishop Fraser Trust on 1 January 2022.

Our distinctive Christian Ethos nurtures and celebrates the individuality of every student, regardless of faith background. Everything we do is built upon the belief that every student can let their light shine (Matthew 5:16), and that they can make a positive difference in this world. To enjoy that fullness of life, they need to achieve the best qualifications of which they are capable, and to develop the life skills to engage with the wider world with confidence.

Therefore, our vision is to empower all students, regardless of their background, to let their light shine. We do this by developing respectful, responsible and resilient young people, who are highly knowledgeable, strive for excellence and advocate courageously for social justice.

We hope that you are interested in joining as a school and are excited to join our vibrant learning community in order to make a difference to the community that we serve.
