English Teacher for our Secondary School

Innovative, curious and future-orientated. The Klax School in Pankow is a state-recognised and bilingual all-day school. From the first to the thirteenth grade, we work according to the internationally recognised concept of Klax pedagogy. The focus is on art-based projects and the method of ‘self-organised learning’. To strengthen our future-orientated team, we are looking for an English teacher (m/f/d) for the upper school in a permanent position as soon as possible.

Your tasks:

• Teaching English in the sixth form
• Collaboration in the school's subject team
• Participation in school projects in the subject area
• Linking lessons and digital concepts
• Documenting the learning progress of our students (m/f/d) (portfolio work)
• Personal support and counselling of our students (m/f/d) in their everyday learning and promotion of their ability to self-determine

Your qualifications:

• You have a completed teaching degree with a 2nd state examination for grammar schools/comprehensive schools for the subject English
• You have experience in self-organised learning with individual learning objectives in terms of an end product as a learning outcome
• You have theoretical and practical experience in dealing with independent school concepts and represent the principles of a pedagogy that focuses on the individual development of the child
• You have a wide range of didactic and methodological skills, experience and enjoy working with digital media
• You can work on tasks both in a team and independently, are committed, creative and a strong communicator and have a natural authority

Ouroffer:

• An open-ended employment contract
• You will receive an appropriate salary in accordance with our salary guidelines based on the public sector
• In addition to their holidays, our employees receive up to nine additional household days per year

• You will be equipped with modern technology for constant use by the school authorities (Macbook, iPad)
• Together with your team, you will attend one week of further education and training during the Easter and autumn holidays and use one week of holiday in the summer as follow-up or preparation time at the school. You have 8 out of 12 holiday weeks for individual compensation

According to Berlin state law, we can only employ teachers who have the following qualifications:

• 2 German State Exams in Education
• BA Education / B.Ed.
• Bachelor + Postgraduate Teaching Certificate / Diploma
• Bachelor and Master in the subject you want to teach

Qualifications such as TEFL or CELTA teachers are not sufficient, regardless of the applicant's experience.
