Nightingale Community Academy is a special school in Wandsworth for 120 boys aged 5 to 19 with social emotional and mental health needs.
Primary pupils benefit from a purpose-built classroom hub and outdoor adventure playground and access to weekly music lessons and a comprehensive therapy service. Secondary and post-16 students are offered a broad curriculum including vocational courses such as motor vehicle studies, construction, horticulture and hospitality. All pupils benefit from regular animal therapy at Tom’s Farm, which is located on the spacious school site.

We are seeking a passionate, innovative, and skilled English Teacher to join our team, specialising in GCSE-level instruction. This role requires an individual who can create a positive and stimulating learning environment and is dedicated to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality English lessons that are accessible and inspiring
- Develop and adapt teaching resources to support students with varying abilities, including those with additional educational needs
- Utilise creative and differentiated teaching strategies to engage students and support their learning progress
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages students to participate, think critically, and develop a love for English
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in English or a related subject
- Proven experience teaching English, with a track record of improving student outcomes
- Experience working with students with special educational needs is desirable
