We are currently seeking a well-qualified Teaching Assistant for August 2025. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality support to students and teachers across a variety of learning contexts, contributing to both classroom learning and student well-being.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with Learning Activities: Support teachers in planning and delivering interactive lessons that engage students, ensuring materials are adapted for diverse learning needs.
- Monitor and Report on Student Progress: Observe and assess student performance, assisting with evaluations across various learning settings, including specialist lessons and playground activities.
- Support Student Development: Provide focused assistance to students' cognitive, social, and emotional development, ensuring a nurturing and positive learning environment.
- Encourage Positive Behavior: Promote and model appropriate behavior aligned with the school’s policies, maintaining a safe and respectful learning space.
- Assist Bilingual/Multilingual Pupils: Support bilingual or multilingual students in overcoming language barriers to engage fully with the curriculum.
- Prepare and Deliver Learning Materials: Collaborate with teachers to prepare and deliver tailored lessons, ensuring students understand the content and achieve learning objectives.
- Support Children with Specific Needs: Provide one-on-one support for students with additional learning needs, helping them integrate and progress within the classroom setting.
- Promote Play and Social Interaction: Foster peer relationships and social skills during playtime, encouraging both structured and unstructured learning.
- Classroom Displays: Contribute to creating a visually stimulating environment by designing displays that reflect ongoing learning themes and student achievements.
- Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure cohesive lesson delivery, fostering a collaborative and dynamic educational environment.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Relevant Degree: A university degree in an appropriate subject, preferably related to English or education.
- Strong English Skills: Excellent command of the English language to support literacy, reading, and writing across a variety of learning contexts.
- Vision for Teaching Support: A clear understanding of effective teaching support and the ability to contribute to a dynamic and engaging classroom.
- Adaptability: Ability to adjust to the varying needs of students and teachers, ensuring personalized and effective support.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage classroom tasks and resources efficiently.
- Positive Attitude to Change: A proactive and positive approach to implementing new strategies, technologies, and teaching methods.
