Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an experienced mission-aligned, values driven trust school leader. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an impressive, measurable and sustained record of crafting a purposeful, motivational and inclusive culture with exceptional pedagogy at the heart. They will have evidence of leading and implementing strategy with rigour and clarity, investing in people, and demanding remarkable high standards.

The right candidate will be highly ambitious for our trust and work with the CEO and the central team in supporting and challenging leaders in our family of schools. They will be passionate about creating remarkable schools where no child is left behind and have the aptitude and experience to work at an executive level, yet the humility to work on the ‘front line’ to do whatever it takes to provide great learning in every classroom for every child and young person.

A full trust induction programme will be put in place for the successful candidate. Initially, this role will involve investing a significant part of the week in one school with a view to building up to working across more schools and leading a particular aspect of standards across our trust. Whilst the successful applicant will need significant secondary experience, they would be expected to develop the knowledge to support and challenge across our three phases (Secondary, Primary, Special), therefore an interest in their own professional growth beyond secondary is vital.

If you are interested in this role, please make an appointment for an informal conversation with the CEO by contacting us on centralrecruitment@beckfoottrust.org.

Please complete our online application form and send in a formal letter addressed to the CEO explaining how your experience to date prepares you for the role, why you want to work for Beckfoot Trust and your vision for leadership. In addition, please include a 1-page impact document that clearly demonstrates your record of measurable and sustained school improvement in your roles to date.

Relocation expenses may be considered for the successful candidate subject to eligibility.

Why join us?

Our trust is well established and has served the Bradford district for 11 years. We are currently a family of 10 schools: Primary, Secondary and Special who benefit from a close geographical location. 9 out of our 10 schools are now evaluating as Good or better. We are locally serving yet nationally focussed and proud of our clarity of what it means to be a Beckfoot Trust school. Our trust is determined that through this clarity, that everyone has the power to lead and can serve our local community in action as well as words. We have an authentic commitment to putting people first and this is built on strong values and research-informed thinking. All our leaders are committed to being supported and challenged to be better tomorrow than they are today and are all genuinely excited about the next phase in our journey to remarkable.

If you are hungry to develop yourself further as a trust school leader and you are committed to making a sustained difference in our locality, this could be the role for you.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and we expect all staff to share this commitment. All successful staff will be requested to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
