Founded in 1970, Campion’s purpose is to provide a first-class education for boys and girls aged between three and eighteen, fostering abilities both in the field of academic and general education, and in sporting activities and the performing arts. It is the school’s intention to educate the whole person in the hope of developing responsible world citizens of good character. The school ultimately aims to prepare students for university education in Britain, North America and worldwide. Our most recent ISI inspection judged Campion to be excellent in every category. 

We are seeking a maternity placement for the rest of the academic year (starting January 2025) and possibly longer. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching a class of approximately 16 children in the Junior School and will preferably have experience teaching children within a British and/or international school environment.

Campion is committed to the continual professional development of its staff, and relevant training is available to successful candidates. 

What we are looking for: 

·           A qualified EYFS (Nipiogogos) class teacher.

·           A commitment to support, motivate and engage all children.

·           A proven record of working in the EYFS setting and a sound theoretical and practical knowledge of phonics.

·           The ability to create a learning environment that develops high levels of resilience, confidence and independence in all pupils.

·           A patient, understanding and empathetic approach to children and their families.

·           A strong team player, who can liaise with parents, staff members at all levels and other professionals.

·           Flexibility and the ability to work on your own initiative.

·           Excellent organisational skills.

·           E-learning and IT competency.

·           Competence in English (essential) and Greek (advantageous).

·           A conscientious professional, able to focus on completing work to a consistently high standard.

·           Resilience and optimism: someone who is willing to go the extra mile in the busy life of the school.

·           A sense of humour.

Important notes:

Greek Applicants - You must hold a relevant degree (Nipiagogos) and have completed the registry for teachers of private schools (Epetirida) or hold the qualifications to do so. Please note that international qualifications are not recognised as qualified teacher status for Greek candidates within Greece.

International Applicants - Your qualifications must be from the same country as your passport. You must also hold a relevant teaching qualification (QTS) again from the country of your passport. Please note that the iPGCE is not currently recognised in Greece. For British applicants, we are able to support ECT training.

Campion School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, international independent all-through school in Greece, serving students from the age of 3-18. The all-through school is situated in the northeastern suburb of Pallini, 18 km from the Athens international airport, on its own purpose-built premises. It is a member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) and the headmaster is a member of the Heads' Conference (HMC).

Campion School was founded in 1970, representing students from over 50 nationalities. The school moved to a state-of-the-art building in 2000, with separate primary and secondary schools managed independently on the same site. The school has a wide range of sports facilities, including a football pitch, covered sports area, running track and long jump area. Lessons are taught in English, with the opportunity of learning Greek, French, Spanish, German and Arabic. Teachers follow the British curriculum, with students sitting IGCSE exams followed by the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme.
