Job overview

This is a unique opportunity to join ‘The Sunday Times Independent Prep School of the Year 2020’ and to work within the structure of a school whose vision is to provide an exceptional education for girls and boys aged two years to eleven years.

This new position consists of 3 separate roles within the school: EYFS Practitioner, After School Care Assistant and Holiday Club Assistant.

EYFS Practitioner: 8.00 - 3.30, Monday - Friday (Term Time Only)

Our Nursery provides an environment where children are nurtured and cared for, ensuring that early attachments are positive and secure. We know the importance of establishing secure attachments on future success. We, therefore, place great emphasis on ensuring that our children are given every opportunity to develop positive relationships with adults and each other. We are keen that Newbridge Nursery is not just seen as a childcare option for parents but a place of educational excellence that promotes all aspects of the EYFS, including a developmental education that prepares our young children for school. We view it as ‘Edu’ Care rather than Day Care and it is a term-time only setting.

The EYFS Practitioner will be instrumental in ensuring that the journey for each child is an exceptional one that not only takes into consideration the individual child and their developing personality but also has a sight on the key attributes needed to be 'school ready'.

From the September after their second birthday, the academic year before moving into Nursery, most of our children attend our Pre Nursery Room which is situated within our Lower School. Cohesion between the Pre Nursery Room, the Nursery and the Lower School is essential, and therefore professional relationships between the practitioners within these rooms are key.

The post will suit a EYFS Practitioner with strong experience and a minimum of a Level 3 Childcare qualification.

See Job Description for further information.

There are opportunities for overtime at numerous points throughout the year with our 'After School Club' and 'Holiday Club'.

The closing date for applications is 9th October 2024 with interview dates the week commencing 14th October 2024. We reserve the right to commence the interview process with early applicants who fulfil the person specification.

Applicants must be willing to undertake several safeguarding checks, including enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) and reference checks with previous employers. The school is an equal opportunities employer. All applicants must have a valid Right to Work in the UK, proof of which will need to be provided on appointment.

Newbridge Preparatory School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. It expects all staff and visitors to adopt a child-centred and coordinated approach to child protection and safeguarding.
