As a Family Worker, you will play a vital role in this mission by working directly with families, helping them develop tailored, sustainable plans that address their children’s unique needs. By collaborating with schools, health professionals, social workers, and other professionals, you will empower families, improve school attendance, safeguard children, and promote positive citizenship.

What do we do?

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Family Worker to join our team at St Ann’s School. In this role, you will engage with families, assess their needs, and develop action plans to improve outcomes for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible support for children in our care while contributing to monitoring and evaluating the success of the programs you help implement.

About the Role:

  • Full-time, Permanent (35 hours per week, term time only).
  • Salary: £33,402 – £34,392 (Scale 7).
  • Start: December 2024.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage families to create positive, sustainable changes that improve outcomes for children with SEND.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, health services, social workers, and voluntary sector professionals.
  • Provide clear, insightful reports based on the analysis of family and child needs.
  • Offer flexible outreach services, supporting families and helping them access essential resources.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluating the success of family interventions.

 

About You:

  • Hold a recognised qualification in family work (minimum Level 3).
  • Strong knowledge of statutory frameworks for education, SEND, and social work.
  • Proven experience in working directly with families and children within a multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with families and professionals.
  • A positive, problem-solving attitude with a commitment to continuous development.
