- Engaging with school life beyond Board meetings, such as attending regular or ad hoc events
- Ensuring that the Governing Body, leadership and management teams actively promote the well-being of pupils

Main Responsibilities
This role is unremunerated, however reasonable, pre-agreed travel expenses will be reimbursed. The full Governing Body meets three times per year (once per term), in addition to an annual strategy day. This Governor would also be expected to join the Finance & General Purposes Committee, which meets a further three times per year. All meetings take place at the School on weekdays. While in-person attendance is preferred, meetings are always hybrid in format to accommodate those who cannot be in Repton. Governors will be expected to take the time to prepare for meetings and attend ad hoc events such as sports and speech days, which may include extra meetings during shorter terms.
Governors are appointed for an initial term of five years, which can be renewed indefinitely at the discretion of the Board. Governors are required to retire at 75 years.

The Ideal Candidate
Repton School is seeking a Governor with experience in health and safety at a strategic level to provide oversight and support to the Head and Senior Leadership Team.
The successful candidate will bring a broad understanding of legal obligations and statutory requirements around health and safety and fire, including: regulatory compliance, training, and risk mitigation.
