Job overview
Chandlings Prep School
Head
The Trustees and Chief Executive of Prep Schools Trust seek to appoint a new Head following the retirement of Ms Christine Cook after almost seven years of exceptional leadership as Head.
Chandlings Prep School is a leading co-educational day school educating some 300 children aged 2 to 11, nestled within 60 acres of beautiful grounds, just five miles from Oxford. Alongside its enviable rural location away from Oxford’s busy city centre, Chandlings prides itself on exceptional academic achievement, genuine pastoral care, and superb facilities. Teachers are passionate about education, fostering curiosity, creativity, and independence in each pupil.
The School offers a diverse and stimulating curriculum, preparing students to continue their education at many of the nation’s leading independent schools. At the heart of Chandlings is a strong sense of community and a commitment to fostering each child’s unique talents and interests.
Chandlings is part of Prep Schools Trust, a leading education charity. Prep Schools Trust holds the ambition to be the best prep schools group in the UK, with each school delivering the broadest possible opportunities for its children.
This is a truly exciting time to join Prep Schools Trust and lead this happy and thriving prep school through the next phase of its development. The Head of Chandlings is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day leadership and management of the school whilst working closely with the CEO and Trustees, who provides support and advice.
The next Head must be a highly visible and trusted leader, known for integrity and a commitment to empowering staff and pupils, but will also be commercially minded and with a flexible and creative approach to help develop the School into the future. They will have first-class communication skills alongside a proven ability to engage with, inspire and lead the whole Chandlings community with a collaborative and empowering approach.
