Can you help support our students to success?

University Technical College South Durham opened in September 2016 and is leading technical success in the only engineering UTC in the North East. With a focus on advanced manufacturing and engineering, it is located at the heart of Aycliffe Business Park, County Durham.  We provide an excellent technical education for 14-19 year olds, encompassing real, relevant workplace experience in partnership with world-class companies and have recently been graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted for the second time.

We are looking for a Head of Department in Engineering to lead our Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) team to coordinate all aspects of the PEO course, deliver and assess units, to lead and expand further upon an already successful programme. As the head of the team, you will be responsible ensuring the quality of PEO delivery, assessment, successful student outcomes, student destinations, recruitment and continued programme growth.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate as UTC South Durham continues to grow and student numbers are predicted to expand in these courses year on year. In the future we hope to expand our offer from Fabrication and Welding and Engineering Practices into other technical areas.

This Head of Department will lead a very experienced team of professionals who focus on the delivery and assessment of all units for both Level 2 Engineering Diplomas.

We are an equal opportunities employer and we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
